Therapy
Jonathan has been attending speech therapy for 4 months now. He is now mimicking more sounds and he even tries words.. .and independently he has 3 words.
This is Leah, our special ed teacher. She has been coming since May... but only 1 visit a month in the summer months, now she comes once a week.
It's a lot of directed play for Jonathan. He has 3 "goals" that he is working on with her and so far he hasn't actually met any of them, but there has been progress!
This is a slow process, but everyone is very optimistic that he will learn to communicate!
I can't believe in this journey we have that so few of my family understand. I get a LOT of flack for taking him to therapy... I have heard from so many different family members about why I'm taking, or he's just fine.. if he still isn't talking by the time he is going to Kindergarten then you should be concerned.... I don't understand this. I mean to be proactive to helping your child. None of his therapy harms him. It's all there to help him. Why would you NOT want to help your child? I find it very odd that I get more love and support from friends on this than I do from family.

13%
Jim and I are finalizing the details of him having the kids every other weekend.
That is 4 days a month.
Which is 48 days a year.
That is over a WHOLE month of time I have to be without my children.
This makes me sick!
Children are not supposed to be raised this way!
Makes me sick.

Friends
I have never been very good at keeping friends.
I always seem to have friends that will be close for awhile, but then we drift.
Not sure why I can't seem to keep friends for long periods.
I am sure that there is something I am missing. I blame it on the constant moving as a kid, I learned really quickly how to make friends, but being I never had to stay very long I have no idea how to keep them.
Take my friend Crystal.
Crystal left her husband, I helped set her up with a place to live, helped her find stuff for this new place to live. She moved in right accross the road so it was very convient. I even made her dinner most nights she worked. Well, then things with her husband got better and we spent less time together but it was still ok. She was there with me for my whole pregnancy with Jonathan. We took college classes together (that's where we met)
For quite some time Crystal and I were very close.
But then my husband left, and I had to move. And our friendship isn't as it was.
Is it because we moved away from one another so we don't have that easy to see each other like it was? Or is it because I just don't know how to keep a friend? Now Crystal and I are still friends but I am no longer the person she calls when she needs to talk. I am no longer the person she calls to do things with when she has free time. We still talk often but it's very different now.
I wonder .. is it because our friendship was started because she needed someone, I was that someone but now that she doesn't "need" me... I don't know how to be a friend to her? I do tend to gravitate to people that are in "need".
I have no idea. But like I said Crystal and I are still friends, and I still talk to her about things that happen in my life. Maybe once we are both done with school and are career girls in the medical field that we will once again be those close friends we once were.

Dreams
I read somewhere once that Disney was turned down over 300 times before he built Disneyland...
hmm.. "happiest place on earth" or so I hear.
I've never been.
I am planning a trip there once the boys are little older. I'm thinking when Adam is 5.. Jonathan would be 3ish... could be fun...

my day
I wish you knew what you were missing.
I wish you saw how amazing our family is.
I wish that you could move beyond yourself and find the happiness you seek.
Seeing you today in that courtroom made it all too real. You are divorcing me.
You are saying that you no longer want our family.
Why are you so selfish? Only thinking of what it is that you want.
What about what I want?
What about what our children want?
They don't want to miss out on holidays with their mom, nor do they want to miss them with their dad.
Most children want both their parents. Not each one at a different time.
But because it isn't what YOU want, our children will be raised in this awful part time parenting situation.
And why?
I guess when you told me all those years ago that you didn't want kids, I should have left then. But no, you said well maybe it would be different with you.
I did everything for our children. I asked for nothing from you. No diapers, no baths no getting up in the middle of the night...
And now, now you are divorcing me so that you "can do what you want to do when you want to do it"
It really makes me just sick to know that my precious babies will get less than just because you wanted out.
Our children deserve better than this.

Abortion
It seems that we all have opinions on abortion. Are you pro-choice? Are you Pro-Life?
Personally I have always been pro-life for as long as I can remember. I remember writing a paper for my government class and rewriting the law so that anyone who had an abortion would be charged with murder and whoever performed the abortion would be as well.
I had some tough ideals as a teenager.
I still feel very strongly that abortion is murder.... Which may or may not be the same way you think about things.
And that's ok.
We don't have to agree on everything to be friends.
But I will ask you this, what if, what if that baby that was aborted, was the 1 person who was supposed to cure cancer? Or cure aids? or discover a way to lose weight while eating junk food and ever exercising! haha. (ok that last one was silly)
I'm just saying, life exists in utero. I have birthed 2 kids. I have felt them kick and swish around inside of me, and just because they weren't screaming and crying outside of my body, they weren't any less alive.

Where have I been?
Sometimes I can be really good at posting stuff on my blog, while others not so good.
Currently I have been busy with MUMs starting, awana starting and also being in full swing with my own college classes. I really think that this semester is supposed to teach me some sort of bigger picture. Everytime I turn an assignment thinking I did well, I get kicked in the teeth with a terrible grade! I am just shocked at it really.
Well, I hope that tomorrow when I take my second biology test I do better than the first time I took one... But who knows! I thought I did well on the first one.
So I have figured out a couple things about me.
1. I love yoga pants. I seriously don't want to wear anything else. They are awesomely comfortable!
2. I like watching football! I hope that one of my boys will play it someday
I seriously wish that I could hook up a mic to him and just record everything he says for 1 day. He's hilarious. The things he comes up with... I really do love him!
I love that his hair is getting a little long! I loved loved loved Adam's baby hair with the curl.. it was sooo cute and soft... and then we cut it.. :( so sad.... I don't want to cut Jonathan's hair ever! haha.. I want him to stay being my baby. LOL I know it doesn't work but hey this mom can wish.
